Michael's Education Journal

For a while, journals have accumulated in my bedroom and in boxes. Often, these writings make good points about my day to day activities. Although, there are times when I find myself lost within my thoughts, and writing ideas or logs on paper do not suffice. Fortunately, the process of becoming a teacher has provided me with the impetus to get organized. First, I had to figure out the purpose behind creating this journal, since keeping a journal has been a mere whim of thoughts carried out by an impulsive desire to create; but now, I see that I can read and reflect on thoughts pertaining to education; more especifically, ideas that are geared for teaching elementary students. More importantly, people such as teachers and parents can look and see my efforts in producing something that would allow them to browse my intensions and plans in teaching, how I outline a personal journal of concepts for instructing students; likewise, teachers and parents can see my sources and inspirations that have lead me to the field of education. Essentially, I ask the viewers to take the time and reflect upon what I have compiled. I hope to continue developing my journal and I ask you to provide me with feedback. Thank you!

"There is truly a science to education and an art; moreover, as a teacher gains experience in the classroom, teaching becomes more of an art. Instruction is based on these two fields of study and practice. Thus, a teacher shapes and transforms the classroom according to the science or research involved in education. Science, of course, is primary to formulating or creating classrooms that rationally make sense. Through the constant utilization of classroom theory, new developments in child psychology, and researched data, a teacher takes what they studied and brings what they have inquired to the classroom. I can imagine how a teacher everyday in the classroom constantly makes adjustments, shaping the classroom environment and utilizing differentiated instruction for students."
